Well, here's my first sewing project. 5×9' Spinntex flat tarp.
Overall, pretty happy with it. Learned a lot from the project, specifically, sewing slippery light weight fabrics is requires more pins…. lol
Anyway, here's a few pics. No lauging at my stitching ;) I haven't seam sealed it yet as I'm considering making a few changes.




I do have a few questions regarding the tieout points. With all the stress loadig at the main ridge point shown in the pics above, I'm more than a little concerned about the grosgrain holding up (as well as the spinntex). I used a small zigzag stitch and backed it over itself to lock it in (and hopefully make it stronger) but it would seem this might be causing structual integrity issues with the grosgrain due to the close proximity of the stitch holes.
Wondering what I should do with this? Am I over tensioning the pitch? Doesn't feel overly tight at each of the balance of the 7 tieout points but seems like the cumulative pressure from all of them is being concentrated on this one point.
