I'm ditching my Leki's in favor of Black Diamond poles because I love flick-lock mechanism. I know that I want cork handles, but that only leaves me with two options:

Alpine Carbon Cork:

Or
Trail Ergo Cork:

The Alpine Carbon poles are a bit lighter and carbon fiber instead of aluminum. They would be the hands down winner for me except the grips are straight and not at a positive angle. I'm used to positive angle grips and have never spent a significant amount of time with straight grips. Do angled grips make that much of a difference in terms of comfort?

I can't answer your question. Never owned angled grips. But if that's what you want and like, why not just buy those poles?

About a month ago I bought the Alpine Carbon Corks. And I'm POed with them. The durability of cork grips sucks! I've got about 6 chunks missing after having them for such a short period. Blah.
