MLD Hybrid Pack

That's a really nice looking pack. Is there a reason you've chosen to upgrade to the 1.5 spectralite for both your tarp and this pack? Is it that much more durable than the .6 material?

Ron and MLD do excellent work for sure. I just received my Exodus pack, and had the Arc hip-belt added, rather than the standard Exodus belt. I also asked that the padded ends be made 1" longer, but for some reason this modification wasn't done.
I almost get just enough wrap around the front of my hipbones, so I'll probably be good with the fit of the hip-belt.
The extra 1" of padding added to each hip-belt wing would have really made the pack fit better for myself, anyway.

I don't plan to carry more than 22-24 lbs with the pack, so this probably will not even be an issue.

Ron/MLD already spec'ed the 09 Revelation using 1.5 spectralite. The only custom changes made to a standard MLD Revelation were to incorporate the use of dyneema x in areas as shown and to use 1.5 spectralite for the front pocket in place of the standard mesh pocket.

SWEET! Ron is prob the best around when it come to custom requests. He recently made my wife and I a custom 2 person XP sleeping quilt for under 2lbs. Not only is it very comfortable and light, it cost wayyyyy less than its Nunatak counterpart…

Of course. I should have remembered that considering how many times I've cruised over to the MLD site and stared longingly at the Revelation during slow time at work.

You'll have to report back on how the Dyneema has performed vs the spectralite. The bottom and the back of the pack take so much abuse it definitely seems like a mod worth considering.

Thom, Nice work on the pack it looks great. Excellent choice and postioning of materials. It looks like you have the best of both worlds.

I do have a question about how you have run the bungee cords up top. I'm asking to see if I should try this with my prophet. I'd say I have most opportunity to compress the load "up top". Do your bungee cords connect the haul loop in the back and then over the top to the upper connection points? (if this makes sense)… Any reason you ran the bungee this way? versus the way MLD shows them.

Having just received the pack, from MLD, I'm still working out my setup and loading. The Revelation type upper roll top security system could be used on the Prophet, I can send you a closeup picture(s) showing how it is setup.

I'm very pleased with the end result. Ron was great to work with and was very accommodating in allowing me to customize the 09 Revelation into what is shown. I felt this pack was the perfect blend of the 09 Revelation and Prophet.
