Well, the gear might be light, but the postal charges are not.

One Ti folding spoon – $4.49 on closeout
Postage to UK – $$$26.50

For a 16 gram item!

Come on guys, what have you got to say for yourselves?

Anybody willing to pop one in a jiffy bag and send it to me?

I think it's because the cart defaults to Priority Mail which I just checked and is $26.50 to the UK for 1 oz. First Class International is showing as $1.44 but I'm not sure that's an option at checkout.

Looks like you're right Chris.

the options I get are:

USPS Priority Mail International $26.5
USPS Express Mail International $27.95

I wonder why BPL doesn't offer the more reasonable option.

Below is a canned response. We'd lost enough stuff using the USPS first class to make it not worthwhile to us.

We discontinued First Class shipping with USPS because not having track-able shipping methods resulted in significant product loss during mailing and delivery, which created distress for our customers, and higher costs for us. To reduce shipping costs, you might consider compiling multiple product purchases into a single shipment.

I knew Sam would be along with an answer eventually..

Not the answer I'd like unfortunately.
Hey Sam, how about you sent it First class and I don't complain if it doesn't make it?

Go on, be a sport.

That’s weird. Every time I’ve ordered something from the US via USPS they’ve always had the best tracking system of any of the services I’ve used. I was always able to follow exactly where my item was by checking here with my tracking number.

Miguel – that's only true for Priority mail and above which is what costs 26.50 for 1 oz to UK. Standard first class mail has no tracking.

The domestic shipping is pricey enough. If there was ever enough stuff in stock to justify $12 for 6 oz of merchandise, I would order a few things. Ordered some Simblissity Levagaiters yesterday, shipping was $1.80ish. I wish they would carry more of their gear on their own website, instead of having to pay 1/2 it's price for shipping it through BPL.

"We'd lost enough stuff using the USPS first class to make it not worthwhile to us."

That's is indeed weird. I can't count how many things I've ordered USPS, and not once have the items not arrived. The worst service I consistently get is with FedEx. I think they get a kick out of waving everything under the nose of customs, who then realise they can get some import duty out of you, thus delaying arrival of the goods by ~ two weeks (and adding cost of course). USPS just flies through customs 100% of the time.

Lynn, so true, my bad experiences were with UPS, but USPS has never let me down.

Simon, you sir are a star, thank you kindly.
