Back to the topic of your backpack- you are not likely to get any reviews on that pack because quite frankly, it is not something many people on this site would even consider buying. Primary reason, at least for me is that it is not a good quality bag. Meaning that it is not likely to last very long. And while it is cheap, its not worth spending taht amount of money on something that wont last. Secondly, at least for me, is that the comfort factor of this pack. You may save some $, but its not worth it if you are uncomfortable. OR better yet is that extra few bucks worth being more comfortable so that you can go that extra mile.

Seriously, I would take it back and buy a dehydrator so that you can make your own backpacking food from walmart instead. Then save some money and buy a good solid pack on sale. I bought my Arc'teryx (sp?) for about $150 on sale. And while it is comfortable and extremely good quality, it is far from lightweight. I bought it before I did any research and before I got into backpacking, let alone UL backpacking. I still have it and use it because I am also on a budget and can't just afford to replace it. Dont make the same mistake and spend money (even if its from returns – its still your $) on something that is crap and that you will want to replace in a couple of years.
Do it right the first time.

Was typying this at work, so you posted before I did. Anyhow, if you are happy with it thats fine. I would suggest you look online (google) for the answers you seek … you are more likely to find the answers quicker that way rather than to wait for someone here who has ever had that particular pack.

Is your pack like the Chinkapin X65? How much does it weigh?

I didn't realize Coleman had expensive mountaineering tents and bags, like a $590 -20F 800 down-fill bag.

I really like their version of the Rainbow, wonder what it weighs?

If you can take it back, that's what I'd do. I've been seeing a lot of Osprey Atmos' on clearance lately. You can find a good pack for a few dollars more, you just might have to look for a week or so.

Gamal –

I know this seems like any other forum you might wander upon, but truth be told it simply is not. It's a rather small group of people who often time act very familial. We quibble amongst ourselves over 3oz. backpacks (round or square?) You asked a very valid question, but this was not the best audience to get the answer you wanted. It appears to me that you wanted to buy the pack and just have someone make you feel like you made the best choice. Everything is relative. If it works for you that is great. Get out, use it and enjoy yourself. I use alot of stuff that other people don't like and I simply don't discuss it with them. I would try to google the Coleman model number or name. If not get out your measuring tape. As we often see on this forum it can be hard to convey a tone when typing. I think most of the people posting were trying to be helpful though some were obviously not. I am also in the Southeast (AL) and don't carry most of the items you carry and have not missed them. That's me, and BTW the "woman screaming" is most likely a bobcat. I hear 1 or 2 a night when camping in southern TN. It won't exactly give you a case of warm and fuzzies. Best of luck to you. Keep asking – someone will try to help. Also try whiteblaze.net it leans to traditional packing even though it is AT specific.

Dude, sorry my answer is coming so late.

The Coleman MAX 65L weighs 5 lbs and isn't bad for a first-time pack. The 65L means its capacity is 65 liters. It's probably built better than many $70 packs. If you decide you like backpacking you'll upgrade and shell out the bigger bucks for a "better" and lighter pack later or get a used one. If not, you're really not out much. It will give you plenty of enjoyment in the meantime…

I won't adress the other issues raised since that wasn't what you asked about. Just go enjoy yourself and, who knows, you might really get into it. We all have to start someplace.
