feedback on Warmlite?

I have one of the older 2R tents, before they switched to SilNylon.

First off, it’s not a normal “double wall” tent, which means a breathable/mesh inner tent with a covering fly. A WarmLite tent like the 2R is basically a single wall tent with second wall suspended from the top of the tent to create a layer of dead air that helps keep frost from forming on the inside. It really works, as less will be on the inside of the ceiling than is on the tent ends. Versions like the 2X are pure single wall tents, lighter but not recommended for winter. If you want to camp in the other 3 seasons I’d go for the side windows for added ventilation.

You should also understand that the WarmLite tents are not idiot-proof, and are designed to withstand weather but not poor user handling, and tend to be a bit more fragile in that respect. If you’re careful with them, they’re fine, but they’re generally not the best tents to give to a bunch of cub scouts.
