I got a note from Henry Shires (owner of T.T.) that he is now making the new Scarp 2 with three pole attatchments "per side per pole" for the crossing poles. This will spread out snow load tension on both the poles and the fly attatchment points. Also it makes the fly more stable in high winds. So each crossing pole will have a total of 6 attatchments to the fly – 12 attatchments in all. Pretty secure.
I'm getting a Scarp 2 later this summer for winter camping. With TarpTent's great quality and well thought out design I think I've finally found a good winter tent – AND summer tent with the available netting body.
