Hi everyone,
The benefit of your experience please.
I currently use a Golite Shangri La 3 for above treeline Pyrenees hiking, and it is superb in all weathers. I use the SMD Serenity Net inside for bugs and insulation. Great combo.
Below treeline, and in forests, the SL3 can be difficult to pitch- finding clear sites big enough is tough, so I'm thinking a smaller, lighter shelter is in order for stealth and lower altitude journeys.
Both the Gatewood Cape and the Sublite Sil appeal- but I can't see the forest for the trees- help.
Pros: Sublite- easy to pitch, less fiddle factor, one unit, looks mnore stable in a blow/ storm
Pros: Gatewood- 100g less, less money
cheers,
fred
