Hello all,
I’m new to this forum and am looking for a new sleeping bag. I’m going to Mammoth Lakes, CA in late June and I’m not really sure what degree bag I should get. I’ve been looking at the MONTBELL U.L.SPIRAL DOWN HUGGER #3. Its temperature rating is 30 F. I think that should be fine for Mammoth in June but I’m not really sure. I tend to sleep hot and want to make sure I don’t buy a bag that I’m going to be to hot in. I’m particularly looking at the MONTBELL because of its elasticity. I tend to sleep on my sides and find traditional mummy bags to restricting especially in the leg area, I don’t think I really have restless leg syndrome but I do toss and turn in my sleep. I guess my question is 1) do you think 30 F will be to warm or not warm enough for Mammoth in June. 2) How is the elasticity on these MONTBELL bags? Stretchy enough for somebody who tosses and turns in their sleep? and 3) I can’t decided if I should shell out the money for Down or save some money and go with synthetic. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
