Just received my first pair of Inov-8 shoes. RocLITE 295's. I'm considering replacing the very flimsy looking insoles with a pair of superfeets or equivalents. Any recommendations? What works well in these rather narrow feeling shoes?
Thanks

I use superfeet and haven't looked back. They fit just fine. The factory insoles are ok but certainly have room for improvement.
Martin, which insoles are in the 295s?
The 3mm or the 6mm?
6mm. Compared to the stock insoles in my Salomon they seem thin and a bit flimsy.
hey Martin,
I use my Roclite 315's for road and trail running as well as for hiking. For technical terrain where I need flexibility I use the standard insoles that the shoe comes with. When I transition to road running or hiking long distances on hard surfaces I swap them out for a pair of Sole custom insoles. They work great, provide alittle more cush for the pavement and custom mold to your feet.
Jonathan… I bought SOLE inserts (Signature version) two years ago to try in my 315's and 330's and found that they were MUCH too wide to fit without butchering them. Did you have to do any cutting, or did you use a particular type of SOLE?
hey John,
the first pair that I tried this combo in I used the standard ones as well and yes I did have to trim the length and width down. In my current pair I am using the new slimmer Sole models and find they fit better but still take alittle trimming
I use custom Superfeet with the RocLite 295s and am very happy with the fit and performance.
I also use the green superfeet in my Roclite 295's.
Works great for me. I didn't even need to trim them.
Anybody have any weights on any of the superfeet products.
The Sole products seem to weigh half the weight of the shoe!
Although I can't wear the green Superfeet (they really hurt my arches), I have a pair of size 11 here and they EACH weigh 48g or 1.7oz.
Nice. Thanks for that info, John.
What's up with the arches? Too high?
Chris… I have high arches and tried the green Superfeet, but the arch on the inserts is about a half inch too far forward and they quickly become unbearably painful. I developed Plantar Faciitis last year and now have custom orthotics, but have found them not to work well in the very low cut trail shoes I normally wear (Inov-8's) because they raise my feet that little bit too much. I may just go to a trail shoe that has a higher and well fitting arch. Just when you finally settle on a piece of gear……..
John, sorry about your PF. I had that once and it took months to go away. Now I,m careful to warm up before a hike and not over-extend myself. Using insoles seem to help.
Which is the reason I replaced the OM insoles with superfeet, that and my flat feet. They really made the Inov-8s a sweet way to travel! I use both the green and orange and tend towards the latter because they have a raised area (like a bubble) that supports the metatarsal portion of the foot. The end result for the shoe is some loss of flexability but not all that much. Works for me!
I use the the orange superfeet in my size 14 305's. Grrrreat!
Just went out for a 10 miler yesterday with the new shoes and green superfeet. I'm not terribly pleased. Seems volume has been too reduced in one shoe and that my heels are too high up in the shoe. The whole shoe felt unstable. I'm going to test some more with the original insole which felt more stable.
