For those of you that don't have a stock alert on… BPL has just re-stocked with Firelite Esbit Wing Stoves as well as the 550 pot with handles. Get 'em while they last – I missed the last production run in September, and had to wait til now to order.

The Wing Stove, both 550 pots, the 1100 pot, the 1350 pot, and the Long Handled SUL spoon are all now available.
all right, now i got to start saving again.
Any intention of getting the 900 back in stock?
Jared,
You'd better save fast – this stuff sells out in a very short time.
Matt,
The entire BPL titanium line has been redesigned and there will be new sizes and shapes for all our cookware. I'd have to go back and look at the design notes (which I don't have with me here in the comfort of my home) to see whether the 900 design will be kept or if it got axed.
were the 550's redesigned? or is this a pre-redesign stock? I get paid the first week of the month… so i'm hosed this late in the month till the beginning of next month… Bought some other gear i needed to replace, since stuff hadn't been in stock for awhile i figured it be a little while longer. :(
Stupid question here – If BPL knows with high certainty that newly ordered Firelite pots will sell out quickly, why didn't they order more?
I realize that there are overhead costs with storing inventory, but it seems that BPL's level of stock (or lack thereof) of hot products like these is hurting both BPL customers and BPL themselves. Why not make a bigger production run, charge a buck or two more if you need to, let your customers buy the products they demand, and increase your profits?
Any chance that the Trapper mug or something similar might be brought back? I like its minimal design and ethereal weight, but alas, I didn't learn of it until they were all sold out.
Michael
> I realize that there are overhead costs with storing inventory,
It's not the overhead cost of storing inventory but the capital up-front costs of getting the stuff made in the first place! You try getting capital these days.
Cheers
@Matt – you want the 1100 for that BushBuddy your are going to end up buying anyway. ;)
Yeah – I have been looking at the pot dimensions. Unfortunately, I do not need another stove (or pot!) right now and I need to make sure I have cash around for the upcoming school year. That whole graduating-from-law-school thing gets expensive quick. I have a hard time throwing down $200 for a stove + pot when I have a quart of denatured alcohol, 30 oz of white gas (in a full container!), 4 full MSR cans and one 95% full MSR can plus a pot that I already like.
(Back you gear enabler!)
WELL…the 1st thing you better do when you get yer Ti Wing Stove is replace the center rivet with a tiny screw, lock washer & nut. The rivet will not last long at all. May even break on a trip. (Don't ask…)

That stuff needs to be sold upstairs at the store that doubles as the best place to pick up single, straight men. Sell one thing to buy another. I bet I've bought and sold a dozen backpacks in the past three years using that method.
Thrifty Outfitters buys used gear??
Do they give you a decent price?
Thrifty buying gear is also news to me. I'll call them in about 30 minutes are report back.
EDIT: I talked to the folks at Thrifty. They said they very, very rarely buy gear from customers. It sounds like whether they'll buy it from you is very dependent on the piece of gear. They will only buy gear that is brand new and is within one or two years old. They'll give you 25 percent of retail.
I wouldn't count on selling them anything because of the aforementioned policies.
Well I'll be danged. I always thought that Thrifty was a consignment shop – – shows what I know!?!
FWIW, Thrifty Outfitters sells Mfrs. Rep. samples and other overstock type merchandises (including new but older/outdated/discontinued gear/seconds). They ALSO do gear repairs on all sorts of things.
I don't think they will do custom sewing, but I've never actually asked about that.
Sam, is the current line of Firelite the new line, or is the current line pre-redesign? What in particular is the redesign adding/changing?
Also, in a nutshell, how do the Firelite pots differ from like-volume Snowpeak and other manufacturers? Just in weight?
