There's another thread titled "My little baggie of important stuff." Folks including myself have posted what they have and included photos. Lots of great ideas. I got to thinking about other little things I've done for repackaging and downsizing things in my hygiene kit.
I don't like to smell stinky hikers and I don't want to smell myself, but I don't want to carry a big deodorant container, not even a travel size. Here's how I repackaging deodorant
stick deodorant in container before repackaging 2.7oz
1- deodorant and container for repackaging
2- shave a small amount of deo
3- loosely place shavings in container
4- place open container in microwave for 10-12 seconds, deo will soften and form to the shape of new container
5- let cool to room temp
6- label and ready to use
deodorant in new container 0.5 oz, this is a smaller amount of deo due to container size, larger containers are available. I found this container at REI, about 20¢ and reusable.
I apply by using my fingers then wipe any excess on my feet
