My dad is going to start hiking with me. He said that if it isn't going to be warm enough for him to get by with a light bag, he won't be there anyway. So, he said he wants something like the deuter dream lite 500. He'll be wearing long johns and we'll only go during the summer. Are there any bags comparable to the dream lite? I'm not worried about warmth, because he'll never go with me when its cold, he just basically wants a cover. Hes short but a a little bigger. I've read that the dream lite 500 doesn't give much moving room. Anybody have any suggestions?
He liked the dream lite because its also $65 and only 1.2lbs.

Thanks

I've got a dreamlite 500 I can sell you for $50, only used once and still like new. I think it's a pretty good bag, just don't need it anymore because I have the lighter WM Highlite now. PM if interested.

Could anyone compare the deuter dreamlite 500 to ledge featherlite +40 besides the fact that the featherlite is a few ounces heavier. Those few ounces might be worth the warmth. Can anyone comment on either?
Thanks

I have a LaFuma Extreme 600 bag that I use in the summer. It squeezes down to the size of a 32oz Nalgene, and only weighs 19oz. The fit is a little more snug if zippered, but I mostly use it quilt-style, since it is summer, and I need some venting.
