My brother wants to do some hiking with his girlfriend, but she wants to bring a young pooch of hers – it is a well-trained terrier. But it is very excitable.
My brother is worried about the excitable dog getting excited and putting his nails into a tent floor, inflatable pad or (worst) his new pertex-shelled down bag.
So, is this a legitimate concern? If so, what to do about it? My brother is thinking about getting a synthetic bag with a more robust shell. He says he could patch a tent floor or a Thermarest, if necessary.
Any thoughts? I'm not a dog guy.
