I recently got a new dog that is just a year old and likes to chew once in awhile. I foolishly left my poles out in the living room after cleaning the insides with a bottle brush and she decided to have a heyday on one of the cork handles.

After talking to Leki I was told I could order the handles from local dealer. Only dealer I could find locally was ProLite Gear who basically blew me off twice after promising me they could order the handles. EMS handled the order perfectly and within one day for the special order.

I was told by Leki that the handles were epoxied on. They are not. There is a plastic friction nut at the top of the aluminum that winds up locking the handle on the shaft after you push it down into place.

Removing the old handle required a utility knife, and a hacksaw. Cut lengthwise into the grip down to the metal. Utilize a flathead screwdriver to help loosen the plastic and it should twist free.

The cork is just a thin covering over the plastic handle. Cut that way first.

Two handles with straps were 26 dollars.

This may or may not help anyone, just thought I would pass it along.
