I'm in the market for summer-weight gloves. Again. I've been using a pair of MEC (www.mec.ca) power stretch gloves for a couple years (and gone thru a couple pairs in that time). They are light, cut the wind a bit, fit well and have a snug wrist (why are 95% of gloves made assuming we all have Popeye fore-arms?). They aren't, however, durable. I'd love to find a pair of gloves that are in the 1.5-2oz range with a snug wrist, have some wind resistance and where the finger tips on at least the fore and middle fingers are re-enforced. Know of any?

I've had luck since December with the REI All-Season Glove. They're Polartec windbloc rather than power stretch, but they've held up well so far. They weight around 2 oz, I think.
They might be more fall/spring weight though.
Mountain Hardware Powerstretch come in at 1.2 and fit snugly in the wrist.
I also have a pair of Icebreaker wool liners at 1.1 oz, although they don't form fit to the wrist.
I have found these gloves to cut the wind well and the silicon palms add durability. I reinforce the finger tips with silnet to add some durability. The wrist is also snug. I have found wind pro more durable than power stretch. Another option is to find a lightweight windstopper glove I believe manzella makes one. Another step up is a lightweight soft shell glove like the BD pilot which offers the durability of a leather palm and has an adjustable cuff for your scrawny wrists.
Another vote for the Rab Phantom Grips
I have a pair of the Mountain Hardware gloves and like them. I believe mine weigh 1.2 ounces as well.
Mountain Hardwear makes great gloves as does Black Diamond. I like the BD's because of the leather palm. My brother and girlfriend use them, too.
Could you try reinforcing (or repairing) the finger tips with a little seam grip? That polyurethane is pretty tough.
Thanks for the suggestion, Rod. If it doesn't work (I've let the holes get kinda big), I'll look at the other suggestions from this thread. Thanks, all!
