    Thanks Sam. I might give that a go next time I want to make a tripod out of my hiking pole. Very neat idea. Just carry a few extra tent pegs and cord and you're set! Not the sort of thing you would probably want to set up every time you're taking a picture, but a great option for dusk shooting.

    It's certainly not practical for capturing quick pics, I agree, Ashley. However for the experienced photographer looking to make serious photos in the backcountry this method could be a great time saver.
