Ultraluxe hiking that is. Here’s a basic Hermès Birkin ‘day pack’ for $12 grand (some models cost more and have an 8-year wait list). You just can’t get any more UL than this! Any of ye lady hikers here own one (or more) of this?
I don’t get it. House and car aside, all the material things I own don’t add up to $12,000!
Ben, you're crazy. You KNOW no lady hiker would own on of these… if I had 12 grand right now (in addition to my own savings) I'd QUIT my job and be hiking a long distance trail!

This is a really up-market lady's handbag, and you KNOW that a lady can fit EVERYTHING into her handbag. Models like this can swallow sleeping bags, tarps, food, … you name it! A sort of black-hole packing system, Glory Road style.

I'm sure Bill Fornshell could find a way to reduce the weight to nearly nothing and make them out of Cuben! All for a fraction of the price and probably better made!

Because when I am accessorizing (both on and off the trail), I only use bags encrusted with diamonds. Costs a mere $92,000 dollars. And when I'm feeling especially decadent, I go for the one that cost over a million. Totally worth it.
And Ben, having nannied I can only wholeheartedly agree with you… once you have kids you can throw any dream of having a UL purse right out the window!
