    @10-7

    Okay let’s try this again.

    2018 didn’t work out due to the campsite being closed for the season due to a forest fire.

    If we push a future trip into October, we may place ourselves in another rain trip like the gathering at Surprise Lake.

    Shall we shoot for late May early June this time?   We can find some lower elevation sites on the Olympic Peninsula.

    Discuss.

    Late spring sounds like a good idea.  Low elevation.  Maybe by a river and I can bring a couple packrafts for folks to try out?

    Yes, absolutely, would love to see you all from a few years back again! And meet some of you IRL.

    I could go even earlier in the Spring. (Assuming it doesn’t conflict with kids sports stuff.) Oly works nicely for us folk from points south along the I-5 corridor.

    Paddling options would be fun.

    great!

    late May early June Olympics tends to be rainy.  It works better if you can have a flexible schedule which wouldn’t work for an event like this.

    but I don’t mind a little rain

    east of Cascades fairly low elevation would be more likely to be dry, but I don’t really know of such a place in Washington.  But Olympics would work fine…

    Dosewallips state park campground could work – it has very scenic and relatively sheltered paddling nearby, and there are some very nice trails of all lengths nearby, including some that are snow-free in late Spring.
