I came across these shoes and thought they were an excellent balance for hiking UL.
These Asics are gore-tex, have solid support that has a gel cushining system, grippy trail tread, and it has a forefoot rock plate to provide protection. They weigh 14.9 oz
I'm a 9.5 but the 10s were perfect. Not bad for around $100.00
Cool! Thanks Shane. Asics make quality shoes (primarily for running) that are very durable and very comfortable. Pretty popular in Australia amongst joggers. Unlike almost every other shoe I see mentioned on BPL, I know my sizing in Asics perfectly. Thanks for pointing them out!

I purchased them form a local retailer. But I'm sure they can be found online from Zappos.
