Just a heads up… USPS international priority prices seem to have gone up fairly significantly recently. About US$5 extra for packages > 4 pounds.

USPS first class prices have not changed though. So if you can keep your packages under 4 pounds and don't mind the lack of insurance, it is now even better value!

eg. for a 3 pound package to Australia:
Priority=$36.20
First Class=$23.50

ps. note you have to pay an extra few dollars to get the insurance with Priority mail (and it is not available at all with First Class)

Ashley: Looking up USA shipping rates and all — are you finally getting the ULA pack and HS tarptent? You know you want them!

Yeah, I was just about to pull the trigger on the ULA Circuit. But… I discovered yesterday shipping from ULA to Aus is now $45 instead of $35 (not sure why it has gone up by more than the USPS increase). Youch. Don't mind paying when I know it's exactly what I want, but not sure I want to spend $180+$45 on a pack that I won't be able to return if it doesn't fit me right. Funny how the extra $10 of shipping cost can swap a purchase decision! Back to umming and aahing. ;-)

If you buy a lot more gear, then postage will suddenly seem less of an issue!

Oh, I'll still be around for two more weeks… plenty of time… :)

Don't tempt me…. ULA pack, Scarp II, NeoAir, new shoes, WP/B pants, gaiters.

When will it end?

I'll email Henry Shires and see whether the Scarp is about to appear ;-)
