Hello,
I was wondering what everyones thought was for a new pack, right now I have a Alpine Explorer Camelbak & was wanting a pack that could carry all my stuff for a thru-hike of the Colorado trail, my base weight is 8.25 lbs w/o pack, I won't be carrying a bear canister w/ me on the trip, I can almost get all my stuff in the Alpine Explorer which is 2100 cu/inch, I was thinking of the ULA Conduit because its light & pretty cheap for the price, Thanks for your input,
Stephen

I love my Conduit but it will likely be a bit large if everything you have fits in 2100 cubes. Better options might be a GG Murmur @ 2200 cubes or a Zpacks Blast 26 at 2600 cubes. If you have time to wait the MLD Prophet and Revelation might also work (both are 2500 cubes without using the extension collar).
I think you will be fine with the Conduit. The main bag is 2100 cubes and the additional volume comes from the front pocket and side pockets (the belt pockets are optional). When the main bag is filled, the front pocket (now made out of a difference stretchy material) sits nice and flat against the body of the pack and can be used for over packing, wet gear, or not at all. These comments are for the 2009 version.
Well all my stuff fits into the pack but I haven't taken 5 days worth of food in it or a bear canister, but even when I do put all my main stuff w/ 2 days worth of food it is very uncomfortable, so that's why another pack like the conduit would let me grow & use it for longer trips, thanks for the info I just needed some reinforcement in my decision,
Stephen
If you like how the pack fits you, you won't find a better pack. I can't say enough about the conduit. I've owned 3 versions now, each update that ULA has made over the years. Every revision has been tweaked and to fit better, weigh less, and (for 2009) cost less- tell me how often that happens in retail-land?
