Can anyone tell me if the stays on the SMD Starlite, Traveler and Comet are straight or curved. I cant tell from the site and the reviews I have read are from older models. Thank You

Straight
You can bend them to fit your back.
Thanks Bob
the ones i got with my traveler are curved, with a flattened area at the top.. dont know if this is traveler specific, but its how mine got shipped (3-6-09)
the traveller stays are curved- do ot know about the others. It is an appropriate amount of curvature.
I just received an email back from Ron and he advised that all the optional stays are curved.
I wasn't going to answer because mine is the older model Comet. It came with curved stays, which I re-bent to fit my back as you would with any aluminum stays. I just had to tweak them a little to fit. But per the above posts, there has been no change in practice.
Unfortunately Six Moon Designs plans to discontinue the Comet. I'm really sorry to see this because it's exactly the right size for 2-10 day solo trips for me–2600 ci in the main bag. The Starlight or Traveler (3000 ci in the main bag) are too big! I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds it so, and I'm not even a UL backpacker, just in the "lightweight" category with a 13-13.5 lb. baseweight. My Comet, bought in 2006 when Ron was clearing out the older (bright yellow) model, is holding up just fine with no signs of wear. If I'm still backpacking (or even alive) when it wears out, I'll start worrying then.
Mary,
Thanks for the insight.
