The Ti spork looks nice, The plastic LMF's are not very durable.
Yes, Ti spork has got me drooling.
Anyone got any opinions on SL3 knife? Is it a gimmick or will it really work in survival situation?
Which part is not durable?
the review of it in Backpacker Magazine's Survival issue (november issue I believe?) was not very good, the testers said that the rod broke easily when struck on hard ground or with excess force.
On the sporks, I don't know about you guys, but it was those transparent sporks that got me drewling…
That LMF knifefirestarter looks like a cute toy.
not sure which model mine is – bought it from someone on here
mine has the knife, whistle & firesteel
i've used it a lot for cutting, cleaning fish, and starting fires – it's a decent little tool. the firestarter works VERY WELL with the notch on the base of the blade – really easy to throw off a lot of sparks with control. the whistle is fairly loud. the blade is okay – at least it's a lockblade, but i wouldn't try levering or torquing it. would rather have a bit better blade on it than any other change.
also – can't seem to find a replacement rod for it. suppose i could just epoxy in one of my own. their website doesn't list this as a separate part – guess they didn't expect anyone to use it as a regular tool, just survival or whatever.
