After reveiwing the 2005 BACKPACKER gear guide, I am confused with the gear BMW has listed, the gear guide is of course not always right, but I was hoping RJ could clear some things up, about when things will be available if ever.

Packs

2500 cu.in. Rapture $199 12oz

Shelters

no questions here

Sleeping Bags

39 degree Sparc $249 14oz 900 fill power down
36 degree cocoon $249 15oz Polarguard Delta
33 degree Cataclysm $299 18oz Polarguard Delta
30 degree Squall $349 18oz 900 fill power down

I have heard about the rapture, but I thougt it was 15oz and 2300 cubic inches

I havent heard anything about the bags, are there prototypes being tested?

And also, when is BMW going to update there site?

I had seen this pack, but it was not listed in the gear guide, that was another question I had, why not?

I believe a lot of prototype gear items are getting tested. We see some of this gear in pictures from trip reports and then some of it falls by the wayside. Lots of reasons for this. Other companies bring things out that are to close to it and/or new materials come on the market.

This is the nice thing about being able to make your own gear. If I can buy what I want, I do. Sometimes I modify what I buy or just try and make it myself.

The SUL gear market is like a baby, growing slowly everyday but not always fast.
