Thought I might just share this in case anyone is looking for a cheap light one man tent.

I am working on a new hybred tent design with a lot of room and very light, but I already have this so I thought I would improve it a bit.

Super cheap. I got this thing from the Eureka outlet for $35.

Its small, Basicaly a tube but it is 8' long, double wall and its fairly light.

The fiberglass poles are junk.

Bought 9 340 Easton poles from Quest outfitters. I got the 340s due to the tight foot radius pole, but now that I think about it the nanolight poles probably would have worked okay and would save a couple more ounces.

Packed the tight radius pole with sand via quest recommendations and got a radius bend going. That worked.

Also bought 8 titanium tent stakes.

Listed min weight is 41 which is very optimistic on Eurekas part.
The total weight of my tent with the factory stakes, no bags is 50 oz.

The factory poles are about 8 oz but the stakes are rediculous at something like 9.4 oz.

My setup now weighs weighs 42 oz complete. With the nanolight poles it would be right at 40 oz.

If you are brave enough to cut off the fly and use a poncho fly you could save another 8 oz so you would be at 32 oz.

Weights are…..

Tent body and factory fly – 32.6 – $35
340 AL poles with shock cords – 7.3 oz – $22.50
8 titanium stakes 1.6 oz – $20

Total – $77.50

Add a cuben fly subtract 4-5oz – $75
Nanolight poles subtract 2 oz – $4.50
Total – $157.00
Weight – +- 36 oz

Not much to photograph as it looks exactly like the factory tent.

If I decide to make a poncho fly for it I will, but I like to have separate rain gear.
