Depends on what you're using it for. Oilskin for rain, straw for sun, wool for warmth, leather????

4X beaver in the winter, straw in the summer. Unless you're desperate, then whatever Toby Keith hat Walmart has.

I sometimes wear a vintage George Strait 4X beaver Resistol from the 80s. Got a straw Stetson. Don't knock them, they's comfortable. They don't really pack down like a Tilley or Seattle Sombrero though.

They really look good with a puffball vest, bison belt, convertible pants, Inov-8 shoes, and a poncho tarp.
