Just found out the Omnibus bill protecting two million acres of wilderness passed the Senate, FINALLY, after a year of Tom Coburn (R-OK) holding the bills up….

So finally the Lewis and Clark Wilderness area around Mount Hood has received official protection, as well as 450,000 additional acres in the Eastern Sierra.

But there's wilderness in it for everyone…from California to West Virginia and places in between.

For a comprehensive list of the wilderness areas protected, visit:

Several expansions of existing and new Wilderness areas in West Virginia's Monongalea NF. It's exciting. The other good news is that the EPA is going to be reviewing all new mountain top coal mining permits in that state. Oversight that has been too absent for far too long.
