Is there a 24 oz pack that has about 3000-3500 cu in and is comfortable up to 30# ??
I have a gregory pack right now and it is nice, fairly light at about 41oz, but a bit small at 2500 cu in.

Not sure about the weights, but the GG MP+ and the ULA Ohm would carry 30 pounds for that amount of weight and volume. The GG Gorilla would be nice, but it's a bit smaller.
For comfort with 35 lbs, you may have to suck it up and carry a few more ounces of pack.
Check out Six Moon Designs- the Starlight, Traveler, and Comet are 24-26 ounces base, going up to 31 with frame stays and optional hipbelt pockets.
I've only used the Starlight with the stays- but it carried 30 pounds just great.
The 2008 Gossamer Gear Mariposa Plus is on sale right now in small and medium. 3600ci, 22 oz.
I just received their Gorilla, and am playing with it this weekend, but it's only 2800ci. It's a 'big' 2800 though, as the back stretch pocket can hold my tent (either a BA SL2 or a TT Rainbow) plus rain jacket and pants.
I'm getting an Ohm in 2 wks and plan on picking between them.
The new Osprey Exos packs are really nice too, the 46 is 2800ci in med. and 3000ci in large. But from what I've read, that volume only includes the main compartment and not the big pockets + lid. 37oz in med, 33 w/o the lid. I tried one on and it was pretty comfy with 30 lbs in it.
