Got it from REI, set it up in the backyard for experimentation, photos, and seam sealing.
First issue, the goofy double stuff sack. They’re sewn to the same bottom, the little one is factory vacuum packed for marketing purposes. The big one actually contains the tarp.
Images on the web make the tarp look like the apex seam was cut with a few angles. It was not, and will pitch just fine as a traditional A-frame between two trees, or with two trekking poles.
One person and gear could stay dry in a moderate rain, but the real strength will be using it as a head shelter for one or two people in bivvy sacks in all but the worst weather.
The nylon is not superlight by modern standards, which I like. I’ll not hesitate to use it as a ground cloth.
More interesting is the pocket at one corner (end of the long axis) which MSR claims can be used as a the hood of a poncho-type thing. Not sure how fun that would be to actually use, but it’s an interesting idea.
