One clear way of lowering one’s skin out weight is to go with skin out.

Very funny picture, but if you really want to go light, give up the hat and gloves too…boots are ok….Hee hee

That's gross. Please picture some fine females the next time.

Oh, I get it. Cheesecake for us guys but no Beefcake for the ladies? ;-}

If you click on the image, the article from the NY times is pretty funny. Apparently nude hiking is enough of a controversy in Switzerland that some are trying to pass a law banning the practice.

I guess you wouldn't need to worry about raincoats, or river crossings. I have a friend who sometimes hikes in nothing but his speedos…

Lynn, does your friend at lest have a nice physique? Speedos on certain guys totally scares me…..

I don't think that would go down to well in mosquito and black fly season in northern MN. Feel free to try though. :)

Yeah, Victoria, he's very body proud (though not my type, physique-wise). Even so, it's a bit un-nerving!

David,

They are manly men and don't need hiking poles.

They just use their 3rd leg as a hiking pole.

My hiking poles are just a sign that I am compensating for something….er, okay, that am shutting up now. :)

Two years ago Dave and I were hiking in SEKI in May. There was enough snow that we had to bring snowshoes and mountaineering gear for the passes. We did not expect to see a soul. But as we were tooling along the trail near Palisade Creek we ran into a girl named Sarah that said her and her friend (that was further down the trail) were there to make up for a snow storm-shortened hike the previous fall. (So were we…) When the friend passed us she was hiking in just her bra and underwear. (And a major blush!) We both refrained from looking back.

I wonder now if she was from Switzerland…
