In my experience, he's really bad about checking and responding to his e-mail. I've had the most luck calling him but I see you're worried about your language skills. Do you have a friend that could call for you?

Yes i learned english reading books ( starting with Gary Gigax Dungeons & Dragons 30 years ago..) and didnt practise much speaking.
I once asked for "two half" pints in a pub and they understood "twelve" :)
I dont see immediatly wich relative / friend speaks an acceptable english but i will search if you say he doesnt often checks his mails.

I'll try again shortly.

Fred,
I just spoke with DJ (8:30 am MST).

He had a materials problem.
He now has parts in hand.
Three stoves have been on hold.
He 'thinks' it should ship by the end of the week.
You will receive a UPS notification when it happens.

And No, he really doesn't keep up with e-mail.

Take care.

The purpose of the stove will be to dry things, more than staying warm :)
My wife and I will only hike for 7,5 days so we wont do all the trail, just from Fort William up to Kinlochewe or Ullapool, depending on our progression.
I can afford this "luxury " item weight as we are testing the list we will use in Greenland carrying 12 days of food this summer.

I got the ti goat stove a few days after Greg phone call :

tig

the kifaru para tipi i will sometime use it with :

para tipi

the para tipi + stuff bag weights only 935g ( after i removed the interior guyline and seam sealed it, but before i did the hole in the fibre glass port) thats not much for the usable inside space ( much more area and max headroom than my 824g twin sisters )

the bug bivy i sewed for it : nanoseeum + silnylon 1.1
with 2 artiach light inside to give the scale : 345G + 4 stakes x 1g.

bb

and a photo of the bug bivy inside the para tipi
( it was before i added a 5g cord + cordlock to tension the guyline of the bug bivy )ptpbb

so the options :

para tipi 935g
14 stakes + stuff sack: 86g
and either bugbivy + 4 stakes + stuff sack: 360g
or titanium goat stove + bags: 534g

in either case thats not too bad.
