I just stumbled on this recently so have no personal experience with the "refund claiming" portion but from what I can see there are a few nice outdoor retailers that you can get cashback with: Altrec & Backcountry 6%, Moosejaw 5%, Patagonia 4%, Sierra Trading 3.3%, EMS 3%, even REI 3%. Aside from some decent links to coupon codes and specials this looks like a nice way to take just a little off the top of the price:) Anybody with opinions or experience feel free to post up.
Fatwallet is great for the forums. Live.com percentage of cash back can be better (eg backcountry is 12%) but merchants are more limited than Fatwallet. You usually have to wait 60 days to get the cashback.
Just placed an order at Altrec and I'll get back 12% on the sales price from Live.com……….but it gets better.

MRSP=40.00ea.
sales price = 25.00
40% off sale = 15.00
Live.com rebate 12% on 25.00)= 3.00
total cost = 12.00ea.
No tax, no shipping for sale price order > 45.00
Granted it will be up to 60 days for the rebate, but I can wait. Thanks for the tip!
