I have an Equinox Silnylon extension poncho that is great as a shelter, but I don't like the way it drapes and feels as a piece of rain gear. I was thinking of getting an Adventure Medical heetsheets blanket and making a hoodless poncho. I always wear a hat so no hood is not a problem. I would wear it inside of my hip belt "military style".
Any reason that this would not work? Should be much more durable that the emergency poncho's from Coleman.
