Brett, I think you'll be fine w/200s. They're a great mid-layer weight (partic. once you get to 250-ish).

Well whether they're 'too' heavy is up to you, I just mean that 200 is heavier than the 140 (of course). If you're mostly staying dry when walking it's probably not a significant weight difference.

To give you an idea, I have a superfine 190 top (Mens M), which weighs 6.9oz/196g (t shirt, not long sleeved). And a 140 weight Tech T Lite, same size (roughly similar fit although perhaps a bit shorter) which is 5.5oz/156g.

The 200 weight is a great cool weather base layer. The 260 is more of a mid-layer or a very cold weather base layer. I like it more for dayhiking than backpacking trips.

I like the thumbholes, but it is a good idea to push the sleeves up when it's wet (or doing camp chores like pumping water).
