Well, the long-awaited H501 has just been released by Zebralight.

H501

For those unfamiliar with Zebralight, they make some very cool lights which use CREE leds (much much better than standard leds). The new H501 is basically the same as the existing H30 except it runs on a single AA battery (yay!).

Here are the specs…

Light Output: Constant ratio output level spread. Current regulated.
96 Lumens (2.3 hr) on High
18 Lumens (19 hr) on Medium
3.3 Lumens (3.5 days) on Low
LED: CREE XLamp XR-E Q5
Dimensions
Diameter 18.5 mm (3/4”)
Height 71.2 mm (2 3/4”)
Battery: One AA size alkaline, 1.5v lithium primary, NiMH rechargeable, or 3.7v 14500 Li-ion rechargeable. Reverse polarity protection.
Beam Type: 80 degree flood, with no hotspot

Not sure of the weight, but it should be similar to the H50 which weighs around 2oz including battery and headband.

BTW, in contrast to the H50 this has a narrower beam-spread and a clicky-switch rather than a twisty. Plenty of folks love the H50, but if you want something a bit narrower (but still flood) then this should do the trick!

Got a price on this Ashley, and have you tried one yet?

Haven't tried it, but have been waiting a while for it to come out. There are plenty of reviews on the H50 and H30 around the web (and maybe one or two here on BPL). They are very popular amongst the light-obsessed folks over at candlepowerforums (their "gear obsession" is purely with lights!).

Price is US$59 but the H50 is $49; shipping anywhere in the world is US$5 I think.

These lamps are cool because they give an exceptionally even flood, are regulated, have well spaced lumen settings, and can be used as a candle, torch, or on a headband.
