The main drawback of down is it's propensity to lose loft as it takes on water. Has any one tried to treat a down garment/bag with a wash in DWR (like ReviveX Wash-In Water Repellent)? I do not have an old, potentially destroyable vest or bag to try it on. Would the DWR kill the loft? Would it leave most of the loft but render the down water resistant?
Any one with experience?
