My climbing pack has a series of small holes in the bottom along with abrasion wear. Aside from this damage, the pack will likely keep going for a few years, so I'd like to repair this damage. I was thinking of brushing on a coating of clear Plasti Dip as a way of generally reinforcing the bottom. Has anyone ever done this- if so, did it peel or crack? How about attract debris?

I've done something similar with PU sealant – Shoe Goo I think, on Cordura. It has only lasted for 10+ years so far …

How well would it work to do the Silicone/mineral spirits mix that you do to seam seal?
Silicone would work if the pack fabric was silicone
coated to begin with. It wouldn't stick well otherwise.
If the label on the Plastidip is urethane based it should
stick to the urethane coating on the pack bottom.
Another thought is to use some sort of light pack liner,
ie a stuffsack sewn to the shape of the pack and sewn or
attached at the top with the drawcord.
