—"All of our packs are gender specific and the women's packs come in small
and medium and the men's in medium and large, the size of the pack that
would be best is based on your spine length. To find out spine length
you need to measure from your C7 vertebrae (when you look down it is the
bump you feel in the back of your neck) to the top of the hip bone. The
recommended spine length for our packs is: Small (15 1/2in – 17 1/2in),
Medium (17 1/2in – 19 1/2in), and Large (19 1/2in – 21 1/2in). There is
not a major difference between the men and women packs except for how
they are designed to sit on the hips and the different sizes. We do
have the new packs available as well. Please let me know if you have
other questions."
If you're a woman who needs to wear a small size, the Jam2 women's is the only choice. If you are a woman who can wear a medium or large, you can choose from both gender-specific packs. My friend is a medium, and she bought the men's medium. It offers more bag space than a women's medium. She couldn't tell the difference in the fit from either model. I bought a Pinnacle (small) because the Jam2 was too large in medium for me. This stinks because if I wanted a larger cubic inch bag, I couldn't get one. So my Pinnacle is a tad larger than a Jam2 but smaller than a men's Pinnacle by quite a lot. Yet the price is the same. Not very happy with that.
