I finally got a new sleeping bag (very light, 28 oz) and want to keep it in nice shape – so I want a bag liner. I sleep in a hammock almost exclusively, but do go to ground occasionally.
I really like the sound of a nice silk liner, but you also need to know that I'm extremely cheap. There's no way I'm paying that much for a piece of cloth.
So – I'd like to make my own and would love some help on a good design.
Being a hanger, I tend to use my sleeping bag as an over quilt, so I would like the liner to be able open up enough where it will only leave a couple feet closed for a foot box. I'd also like to stay away from zippers, but I'm not completely against them.
Here are a couple sites for silk that I've found.

Please comment on design, materials to use (doesn't have to be silk), what thickness I need if I do use silk, and anything else that fits.
Thanks in advance.
