According to the 2006 Aether 60 review, the composite peripheral struts have been replaced with 7075 rods. Are the new rods less prone to squeaking than the old composites? I have 2003 model and like the way it rides but don’t like the constant squeaking of the struts rubbing against the fabric sleeves. Osprey Customer Service suggested spraying silicone lubricant inside the sleeves, but it didn’t really help.
