Sorry Sam , I have just been there…
This is our third day over 43c (109f) here in Melbourne (only one or two to go) , so the brain is on a meltdown…

No worries whatsoever, Franco. The lighthiker link you posted had other worthy stuff so it doesn't hurt to read about the same thing from two sources.

Three days with that kind of heat? That is just amazing! It's even more confusing seeing as how I'm on the other side of the world where it was -20 deg F (-28 deg C) two days ago!

Tip : for the coolest/warmest spot , just follow your cat. This is at 10am , we reached 44c ( in the shade) at 5pm yesterday . I have some trouble visualising -28c.

This works at my house. The cats are always lying on the heat vent.

Take a look at my profile pic. My moustache had icicles forming on it within minutes of being outside.

Hi Franco,

Just to let you know we in Canberra are doing it easy as we are experiencing a cold snap of 37C (98.6F)

I feel even more sorry for Adelaide there having days over 44C (110F) and nights into the mid thirties (high nineties F).

Now that the thread is gone to the cats…
my wife is in a desert area in Western Australia. Funny thing is that it is about 10c cooler there and in the middle of the rainy season. To top that off they always have plenty of water ( under the red sand)
And yes, Canberra can be a cold place.
