And what IS the ancestory of this stove?

Kovea Reactor

This is from the Kovea web site. They MAKE stoves. Unfortunately that page does not show a price…

Cheers

EDIT: my apologies for the stupid error in the title – of course it is not really a Reactor, but WHAT is it? My understanding is that the Jetboil stoves are made by Primus, but who makes the stoves for Primus?
Curiouser and curiouser…

Roger, maybe a copycat of the REactor?
I tested that stove pre-production. Im more of an alky type guy :)

Are they not the company that is making the new Lite-Max for Snow Peak as well?

Looks more like Jetboil knockoff (or precursor?). My Kiwi buddy had a Kovea folding titanium stove a year before the identical Snowpeak Gigapower Micromax came out.

Relationship if one is the ancestor of the other, or if they share a common ancestor?

Maybe one could turn that cozy inside out and put a jetboil canister on it…it sure is ugly. I wonder if it has a heat transfer radiator on the pot's bottom? I've been hoping someone would come out with something like a Jetboil that is of higher quality and lighter, but this doesn't look like it.

It appears it is another entry to that niche of the market. More likely a descendant (or cousin) than ancestor. The part that makes it more efficient is quite different from the Jetboil, EtaPower, and Reactor stoves.

It is my understanding that the MSR stoves are made in the USA. REI says the Jetboil PCS and GCS are made in the USA, but if I recall correctly the burner is made by Primus. Where the rest of the stove comes from, and is assembled, I don't know. REI says the Jetboil Helios is imported (to the US).

Interestingly, REI says it can ship MSR products only to US addresses. Perhaps it is just a marketing agreement, but who knows?
