Hi Dan, if you want us to show you how to go light, first give us a list of the gear you use. the more detailed the better. if you have one, use a postal or drug scale and round to the nearest ounce.

then once we give you a few pointers, you can also look at the Community gear lists page. There is also some good literature for lightweight backpacking, such as:

I HIGHLY recommend this book since you are already posess basic skills of the outdoors.

I also recomend:

You're welcome, Dan! Is it really a parking lot? I always thought it was carpet.

My wife and I went to the Legg-Mason Tennis Classic every year!

One year, we saw Marcelo Rios literally doing push-ups out in the parking lot!! The next year..it was Carlsen from Denmark pulling rubberbands with his coach….etc..etc.

As Club Professionals ..I'd always point this kind of thing out to the kids. That you have to go the extra distance …and if you've got nothing better to do…do some pushups..or pull some bands …or pump a dumb-bell!

The ones who took this advice to heart..excelled!! Dan

Are you working on a gear list for us yet? :)
I am looking forward to giving you suggestions!
