I loaned out my Katadyn Hiker Filter (not the Pro model) to a couple of my buddies…big mistake. The bag for the "outlet hose" and the hose itself reek of MILDEW. So, how do I fix this? Or can I fix this? I figured soap and hot water, but what if that doesn't kill it? Can I dilute some bleach and kill the mildew that way?
Enzyme-based detergent followed by mild bleach, and sunlight.
And hope.
