Adding more traction to northern lites snowshoes

Anyone ever done this. Seems like you could add more spikes to the metal round tubing frame pretty easily without adding much weight. Everyone says that the Msr snowshoes have so much better traction but they don't float as well. Mabye you could get the best of both worlds this way.
