Does anyone know a good website for researching edible plants in a specific area? I've tried searching on yahoo but can never find anything good. Thanks!

I have used books and then used the internet to find more pictures and info on specific plants so as to better identify them in the field.
What state?
Lots of good books out there :-) Best bet is books, lots of studying and find a hiking partner who is a plant nerd.
I don't eat anything until it is vetted by my friend Dicentra – even if I am sure what it is. (She went to college for this/worked for a NP for it.)
Yeah, I know theres a lot of books out there, I was just hoping more for a good internet source. I guess I'll just stick to books.
Not to go too far off subject, but I'd really recommend taking a class in the area you're interested in (and taking it during different seasons).
Learning to identify plants is SO much easier with an experienced guide.
The reason why I mentioned that hiking with someone is so important is that many plants look alike.
I learned berries first (simply due to loving them) then I branched out. Yet, there are times in spring where stuff looks all the same.
You can be lax in certain areas, on the other hand, if you want to pick fungi, you best go with someone who really, really knows what they are talking about.
Also, I have found that talking about plants really helps with the memory. There are often classes and clubs out there that encourage joining. Or better, many NP's have botanists that do walks/talks.
I have a good book on Edible Plants.
Its by Bradford Anger and it covers all Edible plants in the US and Canada. It is called Field Guide to Edible Wild Plants. I hope this helps somebody.

Oops. Misread the thread title. Thought this was a MYOG thread. I was going to suggest using sushi paper (dried seaweed) as it comes in sheets that you can stitch together, is lightweight, and goes well with rice at the end of the day.
