Hello all,
We, (at least 6 of us), have a trip scheduled foe Mt. Whitney from Jan 28th to the 31st.It will be up the mountaineering route.
We will be driving up on Wednesday, starting Thursday and be going back to the cars on Saturday.
We will have ropes harnesses and everything needed to get up the final ascent.
The only thing we will not have is any ride sharing capabilities or tent space.
If you would like to come, please respond here.
We will go rain or shine like we did last year, when this trip was posted. The only thing I have heard that is any different than usual is that we may have to start a few miles down the road, if the Portal is closed

Feb 14, 2009 at 9:08 pm #1477923Well,
We took 2 not so enthusiastic newbies with us that also took snow boards.NOT FUN!!!
I heard more crying during that trip than I have combined in my life time.
The funny thing is, I as much weight off of everyone and took the heaviest items I could. When we ended and weighed the packs the other 2 packs with the snow boards were only 1 pound over mine.I may head back up before the lottery time comes???
I am looking at doing a 24 hour run 3 race series this year.

I am also going for the Tahoe Rim Trail Record, (Unsupported) this year as well.
The TRT does not have an offical time for Unsupported, so I would really like to post a good time. -
