Is there any way to keep the smaller animals out of a pack when you hang it to keep away from bears? My pack has a draw string on the top. Would any kind of cover help me?

It's not foolproof, but you could take an aluminum pie tin and suspend it upside down on the line from which your pack hangs, a few feet above the pack. You'd have to run the hang line through a hole in the center of the pie tin, and suspend it so it looks like an flying saucer. Most critters can't crawl down the line past it.

I heard of something called a "ratsack" that might work. It's supposed to be made of metal mesh that's rodent proof. I haven't seen it, but it's supposed to be lighter than using a canister.

Are you hanging it empty to store at night? If so, just hang it upside down. Most of my packs have a drawstring top and I've never had a rodent get into one.

There have been some reports of non-delivery with this product. Run some checks first.

Cheers
