Hello,
I am interested to hear your opinions on these. Depending on what I hear,I may buy a pair.

Questions:

Will they fit a mens size 13 bulky winter boot?

Do you know of any links that have detailed descriptions?

Any owners? If so please chime in with your thoughts.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have these crampons, and had to purchase a longer extender bar to get them to fit my size 12 Montrail ICE 9 insulated single boots (New Classic bindings).

With the stock (very flexible stainless steel bar) they weigh 9.9 ounces each (on a Pelouze digital scale). With the longer extender bar that is made from thicker, black coated steel (like the frames in my G14s) they weigh 11.1 ounces a piece. Pretty darn light for real spikes.

They are aluminum, so keep them on ice and snow… I have walked on a bit on rock in the Catskills, but this will quickly degrade the points so don't make a habit of it. They are fantastic for glacier/snow walking or as a just-in-case item. If you will be doing vertical ice or mixed climbing, get steel.

The anti-bots work rather well.

Lastly, Grivel North America is done so supplies may be dwindling. Get them now if you want them.

Depending on the boot, you may need a longer than stock bar for it. I have some super big boots, Asolo Granite GTX size 11 or 11.5 and I use the last hole. The boots sole is 12.75" along the bottom measured with a tape. If your boots are much longer, or wider at the toe, drama. With this crampon, you need a pointy mountaineering or smaller sized yet stiff boot to be secure in between the toe cup thingy. Or you will pop out when you torque it, which is always at the crux.

As far as wide boots, there is the Grivel G10 Wide which is fuller at the toe, allowing for snowboard or other wide boots.
There may be others.

Thanks for the info. I can tell these crampons will not work for me. I thank you for your time,You saved me from a wasteful purchase. The price was good(I think…$70),but no sense in throwing my money away.
